Sweetbitter (2018-2019)

At 22, Tess moves to New York City with no friends, no big plans, and just a desire to find a job. She’s not entirely sure what she wants out of life yet, but she’s open to new experiences.

With her natural charm and keen eye for detail, Tess is offered a chance to train at one of the city's top restaurants. At first, she thinks it’s only temporary—just something to do until her real purpose or career path becomes clear.

But soon, Tess becomes captivated by the vibrant, chaotic world of the restaurant. She’s introduced to fine wines, experiences the lively nightlife in the city’s dive bars, and learns who she can and cannot trust in this fast-paced environment. Her co-workers, once strangers, start to feel like family. Through them, Tess finds a sense of belonging that she never experienced before. The hustle and bustle of the restaurant life, with its late nights and complex relationships, draws her in more than she ever expected.

As Tess navigates this new chapter, she begins to see that this job, and the people in it, might be more than just a stepping stone. It becomes a space where she can explore who she is and what she wants while building deep connections with the people around her. In this whirlwind of change, Tess realizes that maybe this life she’s living now is exactly where she’s meant to be.
