Nazer Salcedo who?
Nazer Salcedo, the famous tenor.
Nazer is a true-blue Ilonggo having been born and raised in Sara, Iloilo.
Because of his knack for music and the arts, though, Salcedo wanted to bring his talent to a wider audience.
Some of his achievements are his Bachelor of Music major in Voice under the Expanded Tertiary Education Program at St. Paul University with Dr. Ronan Ferrer’s tutelage and is currently finishing his Masters in Theater at the University of the Philippines in Diliman.
Azer currently teaches in Guang Ming College, the Philippine High School for the Arts and De La Salle University Dasmarinas, Cavite Senior High School where he leads the Teatro Lasalliana. He has also taught acting and musical theater in ABS-CBN Talent Center.
Salcedo is a member of Tanghalang Pilipino’ Actors Company from 1999 to 2004.
He is a Grand National winner of Kundiman Fiesta in 1994, Grand Champion of Phoenix and ABS-CBN’s “Kalderoke” singing and cooking competitions and other awards.
As an accomplished musician, Nazer is now a member of the illustrious Tribu, a singing group that was inspired by the now-defunct Tribung Pinoy, a cultural group organized by the late banker and arts patron Danny Dolor.
Salcedo, together with fellow Tribu voice ensemble Sweet Samaniego-Buchacan and Margarita Roco, both sopranos, Only Torres, baritone and Terence Gil Guillermo, tenor, will unite to serenade the public with the show “Tribu Timeless,” an extravaganza of classical music, both homegrown and imported, arias, Filipino folk songs, kundiman, balitaw, danza and a lot more.
“We will also don Broadway hits, Disney tunes and other contemporary music,” said Nazer.
The concert which will be held at the Teatrino in The Promenade in Greenhills on October 26, 2024 at 8 PM will see Nazer showing his versatile talents in music.
We’re sure, all Ilonggos and Visayans are proud of Salcedo.
