LOS ANGELES, California—Despite the heavy downpour in most part of the United States of America and in this city, The Filipino Channel (TFC)—the global broadcast network of ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation— braved the weather and covered physically the launching of the book “SekSinema (Gender Images in Philippine Sex Cinema Enfolding Pandemia)” at the Philippine Expressions Bookshop in San Pedro, California.

TJ Manotoc, North America Bureau Chief at ABS-CBN News and Head of Media Production for North America came on time with a video camera in tow and his thick black winter outfit.

According to TJ, the L.A. reporter assigned to cover the event had a previous commitment so he took it instead.

“It so happened that we have a family reunion in L.A. so I might as well take the assignment,” Manotoc shared as he entered the venue at 479 W. 6th Street, San Pedro, CA.

TJ travelled from San Francisco Bay Area to L.A. just to make it to the book launch.

He joined the rest of celebs Princess Punzalan, Rita Magdalena, Edgar Mande, Marilou Bendigo, Faye Romero, Luchie Aclan Arguelles and 1998 Mutya ng Pilipinas Rochelle Romero Ong in celebrating the very first book on Philippine sex cinema.

BVV8 Media Productions, part publisher of the book, is indeed thankful to Manotoc for the initiative he took even if he is already a top brass in ABS-CBN global communications network.
