There were several concerts staged by the singing group The New Minstrels even before the COVID-19 pandemic but the performers were few.

This time in the middle of a health crisis, TNM will embark in a unique show with as many as 21 participants from the Philippines and abroad however virtually.

Titled “Remix,” the gig which is scheduled to stream in September will feature multi-generational members of the group.

“Inimbitahan namin lahat ang mga past members pero hindi lahat ay puwede dahil ‘yong iba, busy na. Pero nabuo namin ang (We invited past members but not all of them are available because of busy schedules. However, we were able to gather) 21 performers,” said Joseph Olfindo, a second generation component of the musical band in the 70s and 80s which took not only the country but the whole world as well.

TNM, from its many generations, has produced many of the most popular and first-rate singers who have eventually gone solo like Joey Albert, Louie Reyes, Chad Borja, Ding Mercado, Ryan Fuentes, among others.

“The theme of the show is ‘bridging generations through music’,” quipped Joseph.
“Music bridges generation gaps so that each of its members understand and support each other in any way possible for the enhancement of life,” added Olfindo.

TNM member Ems Bolanos takes a multi-tasking job of conceptualizing, directing, writing and motivating each and every performer of the show which is being produced by GOV—an acronym of its individual members Garcia (Jess), Olfindo and Vitan (Mon)—Productions.

Some of signature songs TNM has popularized are “Ikaw Ako Tayo Magkakapatid,” “Smile,” “I Don’t Love You Anymore” etc.
