Maria Isabel Lopez shows no sign of slowing down as she is set to do another film project this time and will be shot entirely in the United States.
Lopez is back in the country to fulfill showbiz commitments and to look into her other social and professional obligations.
AWARD- winning actress and beauty queen Maria Isabel Lopez surely is going places both literally and figuratively.
After winning Best Supporting Actress plums in Golden Screen Awards of the Entertainment Press (Enpress) in 2010 for “Kinatay” and “Lorna” in 2014 Cinema One Originals Film Festival, Maria Isabel reinvents herself again, this time as a lead actress all over again.
When, the Covid-19 pandemic had Isabel stranded in the United States in 2020 when she paid her fiancé a visit and then subsequently married human rights lawyer Jonathan Melrod two years ago, Maria Isabel sealed a film project.
“This time around, it will be a feature film with Ara Chawdbury, the director of ‘Miss Bulalacao,’” exclaimed Maribel in a recent exclusive interview in “Boy V’s Corner” in OpinYon Facebok Live.
“Miss Bulalacao” is a black comedy about a drag princess who got pregnant by an alien creature.
Lopez is back in the country to fulfill showbiz commitments and to look into her other social and professional obligations. “I am also visiting my son Ken Yokohama,” she quipped.
The 1982 Binibining Pilipinas-Universe disclosed that Chawdbury’s second film is titled “Maldisyon.”
“It is a horror movie to be shot in Nevada and California in May,” she informed.
“This is the only information I can share with you because I haven’t got the full story,” clarified Maribel.
The actress’ daughter, Mara Lopez, will also be in the film.
“I will play the lead with Mara playing the young me in flashbacks,” said the controversial celebrity.
Maribel is set to fly back to the US in May.
