SK Boy Group announces exit of Heo Chan from it

Heo Chan of South Korean boy group Victon will officially leave the group after being suspended for driving under the influence of alcohol last month as confirmed by his label IST Entertainment on October 11.

After suspending the idol from team and individual schedules after the incident, the agency and the members have decided that it would be best to let go of the idol.

IST Entertainment stated,

"We'd like to express our sincere gratitude to the fans who love VICTON. We'd like to inform you of the following member change, after careful consideration and discussion with the VICTON members and Heochan, it's been decided Heochan will leave the team.”

“We have come to this decision by taking into account the opinions of the members and Heo Chan who did not want to cause any more trouble. Once again, we apologize for causing concern to the fans with this sudden news, and ask for your understanding,” the agency added.

The label added that the boy group will be reorganized into a 6-member group with Seungwoo, Seungsik, Sejun, Hanse, Byungchan, and Soobin, but will be promoting as a five-piece act as of right now as Seungwoo is still undergoing mandatory military service.

Heo Chan addressed the issue last month by sharing a handwritten apology for his supporters after getting caught driving under the influence after meeting with some acquaintances on September 20.

“I sincerely bow my head in apology for delivering unfortunate news ahead of many schedules. I once again apologize for causing a social controversy due to my wrong actions on Sept. 20,” Heo Chan posted on Instagram.

During the investigation, The Gangnam Police Station revealed that Heo Chan’s blood alcohol concentration was reported to be very much over the limit that they had to cancel his license.

“I am sincerely reflecting, and I am spending time with regret and self-blame every day,” added Heo Chan.
