SIWON of Super Junior won't join in Manila concert on August 6

SIWON of Super Junior tests positive for COVID-19 and will miss Super Show 9: Road in Manila this coming August 6 in the MOA Arena.

Super Junior’s Choi Siwon will miss the Super Junior World Tour Super Show 9: Road in Manila after testing positive for COVID-19 and will be unable to join the other members on August 6 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Label SJ released an official statement on August 3 that Siwon contracted the virus while preparing for their overseas schedules.

“We would like to ask for your understanding of the fact that Siwon will be unable to participate in the ‘SUPER JUNIOR World Tour – SUPER SHOW 9: ROAD in Manila’ performance scheduled for this week,” a statement from Super Junior reads.

The statement also confirmed that all of Siwon’s schedules have been halted and is self-isolating according to the guidelines of the quarantine authorities.

“We will faithfully support Siwon's speedy recovery by considering the artist's health and safety as our top priority,” Label SJ said.

Super Junior just finished their concert in Bangkok, Thailand as part of their ongoing world tour which started in July and are in the process of preparing to head next to Manila for their show on August 6.

In a separate statement, Dream maker Entertainment and Pulp Live World confirmed that Siwon will not participate in the Manila concert.

“After SUPER JUNIOR’s SUPER SHOW 9: ROAD in BANGKOK tour, they conducted a PCR test in accordance to the government guidelines. Unfortunately, SIWON tested positive in PCR test. We are deeply sorry to inform you that SIWON cannot participate for SUPER JUNIOR WORLD TOUR SUPER SHOW9: ROAD in MANILA, which is scheduled to happen on August 6 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena,” the statement read.

“Except for SIWON – LEETEUK, YESUNG, SHINDONG, EUNHYUK, DONGHAE, RYEOWOOK, KYUHYUN will participate in the concert as scheduled. We ask for your kind understanding and wish SIWON a well and speedy recovery,” they said.
