The runaway success of “Tala: The Film Concert” has prompted organizers to hold two more screenings of the virtual concert this May.

“Tala” remains Geronimo’s biggest hit with over 21 million streams on Spotify and 170 million views on YouTube.

AFTER the runaway success of “Tala: The Film Concert,” pop star Sarah Geronimo’s digital concert series will once again be available for screening next month.

“Tala: The Film Concert” will be available for screening on May 1, 8:00 p.m., and May 2, at 11:00 a.m. on the streaming websites KTX.ph, iWantTV, and iWantTFC.

Tickets cost P1,000 each.

Geronimo’s first ever digital film concert, held last March 28, saw tickets sold out and Viva Entertainment having to release additional VVIP tickets due to the huge demand.

The show also proved the viability of virtual concerts, which have been an alternative to the live person concerts that were canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The two-hour film concert, named after the hit song “Tala”, showcased 18 songs, including Sarah Geronimo’s own rendition of Rico Blanco’s “Your Universe”, and her new version of her hit singles, “Ikot-ikot”, “Kilometro”, “Dulo”, and “Isa Pang Araw.”

“Tala” is Sarah’s first full concert performance since UNIFIED, a Valentine’s Day 2020 concert she co-headlined with Regine Velasquez.

According to ABS-CBN, it was also considered the last major concert production staged for live audiences before the pandemic.

The concert also marks Sarah’s return to small screens after a notable absence from variety show ASAP Natin ‘To, on which she has been a mainstay since 2004.

“Tala” remains Geronimo’s biggest hit of her career, with over 21 million streams on Spotify and 170 million views on YouTube.

With the popularity of social media platform TikTok during the Covid-19 pandemic, the song has had found renewed fame, with K-pop star and former 2NE1 member Sandara Park, a friend of Geronimo’s, performing the “Tala” dance on social media. (NP)
