Sarah Geronimo returns to ASAP after taking over a year break from performing and focusing on her other hobbies during the pandemic.
Sarah Geronimo finally “home” after returning to the ASAP Natin ‘To stage after over a year of hiatus with a powerful performance of her 2018 hit “Duyan” on Sunday, July 24.
To start her comeback activities, a pre-recorded clip was shown where Geronimo addressed her fans and how much she missed being a part of the weekend variety show.
“Mga Kapamilya, ka-A2Z at Kapatid, na-miss ko kayo. Sana na-miss niyo rin ako. Uy, nagpa-miss! Maraming, maraming salamat po sa aking mga Kapamilya in ABS-CBN, Viva, and of course sa ‘ASAP family ko’,” the popstar said.
To show a warm welcome to the returning singer, mainstays of the concert show led by Asia's Songbird Regine Velasquez, Janine Berdin, Sheena Belarmino, Lara Maguie, and more performed her hits such as “Forever’s Not Enough,” “Tala,” “Kilometro,” and “Isa Pang Araw” before she took the stage.
She continued,
“Salamat sa lahat ng aking mga co-performers and of course, sa lahat ng Popsters na talaga namang matiyagang naghintay. From the bottom of my heart, maraming, maraming salamat po sa inyong patuloy na pagsuporta.”
SarahG’s last performance on the “ASAP” was back in November 2020 before deciding to pursue her love in baking and decided to enroll with the Heny Sison Culinary School’s Essential Baking and Pastry Series, where she earned a Certificate of Merit.
During her absence, taped and remote performances of Geronimo were shown.
However, she missed the "ASAP" Christmas episode, where it signified the show’s transition to additional free TV airing on TV5, and its 26th anniversary in February 2021.
“And now, I’m finally back home, of course, only here in ABS-CBN. Samahan po akong muli as I once again share my music,” Sarah G then thanked everyone who waited for her including ABS-CBN, Viva, and the ASAP family.
