What makes Rochelle Pangilinan a Visayan actress?

Yes, she has Visayan roots.

By affinity, of course.

Because Rochelle's husband, Arthur Solinap (also known as Art Solinap), an actor, has Visayan blood.

Arthur's mom is Gonzalez from the Visayas.

Solinap is a cousin of Dindong Dantes whose mother is a Gonzalez from Negros as well.

Therefore, by virtue of Pangilinan's marriage to Solinap, she is a Visayan.

Being a pride of Luzon (being born in Manila), Roc, too, is a proud Visayan.

Luzonians and Visayans must root and cheer for her win as the Best Supporting Actress at the recently concluded 21st Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival for the movie "Child Number 82," a foray into the search of a young man (JM Ibarra) for his real father where Rochelle played his mom.

Director Tim Rone Villanueva is very proud of his actress and vice-versa.

According to the SexBomb Dancer-turned-actress, she was challenged by the role of a mom who was sired with a son by an actor.

It was a welcome development in Pangilinan's career because she is able to do diverse roles in film and television. What is lacking in her showbiz career is a stage performance or a theater stint where most award-winning actors are able to excel.

During the Cinemalaya awards night, Roc was stunned when her name was called as the winner of the award.

She couldn't help but be teary-eyed in her victory from her seat to the podium of the Red Carpet Cinema of Shangri-La Mall in Shaw Boulevard in Mandaluyong City on a Sunday night.

It was a memorable moment for Rochelle, who is more known as a dancer.

This time around, she will regal her fans and the audience, in general, about her acting chops.

Rochelle’s next film project, please.
