To lend authenticity and realism in his role playing in the movies, actor Richard Quan agreed wholeheartedly to fly to Samal Island to shoot some vital scenes for a biopic of a public servant from Davao del Norte.

Richard, together with director Francis "Jun" Posadas, Production Designer Cyrus Khan and other staff and crew of the production, flew to Davao City late last week to shoot scenes in real places where some important events happened in the life of the politician.

Quan plays Edwin Hubahib, the incumbent governor of Davao del Norte and wants to essay the role with gusto.

"Being an actor, I would like to be believable in my performances so I see to it that if they're based on real life, actual settings are required," echoed Cyrus while talking to Richard on video call as signal was bad.

As soon as the whole creative team reached Samal Island, Posadas directed Richard to flesh out private moments of Hubahib in the past.

"Sa Samal Island daw kasi nagpupunta si Gov pag gusto niyang mapag-isa at makapag-isip. Dalawang eksena ang kinunan namin sa Samal, yong pagmumuni-muni niya nang mag-away silang mag-asawa at nang magdesisyon siya kung tatakbong gobernador (It was in the island where he went to be alone and meditate. We shot two scenes there, his introspection when he had a misunderstanding with his wife and when he decided to run for office," said Khan in a separate online interview.

Hubahib was once a farmer, vegetables vendor, bus driver and inspector before he finished engineering and rose to prominence in politics.
