In the most awaited Toronto International Film Festival (tiff) that will happen next month, two Filipino Films are set for a world premiere here. These are June Robles Lana's "Anak ka ng Ina Mo" for Centrepiece Section and Sonny Calvento's "Primetime Mother".

Jun Lana's "Anak ka ng Ina Mo" is among the 47 film entries from 45 countries.

According to TIFF, it portrays "the relationship between a hard-working mother and her layabout son is challenged when she invites one of her students into their home."

Starring Sue Prado, Elora Espano, Miggy Jimenez, and Kokoy De Santos, this became a reunion project of Sue, Miggy and Kokoy after their digital Series "Game Boys" was released in 2020.

Moreover, Sonny Calvento's Primetime Mother is one of the 42 entries for Official Selection- Shortcuts from 23 countries. "Primetime Mother", top-billed by Meryl Soriano, is about a Filipino game show told in a very Filipino way, complete with dance showdowns and melodramatic life stories of the contestants''- FDCP Shared on social media.

TIFF is missioned to remove barriers to unite diverse people in creating "transformational experiences" in presenting Canadian and international films.

In 2022, Filipino film, "Leonor Will Never Die" won the YIFF's Amplify Voices Award .
