Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach has conquered the NYC Marathon after months of training.

Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach is ecstatic after finishing the 42km New York City Marathon, calling it the “best run of her life,” as she posted on her Instagram account on November 7.

“I did it! We did it!” she began her post.
“The NYC Marathon wasn’t a race, it was an experience. A life lesson. Probably the best run of my life. I saw and felt so much. I AM SO HAPPY and grateful, inspired, humbled, and emotional… lahat na!”

Wurtzbach explained how she found solace in running by making it a representation of how important it is keeping promises to others and to ourselves and considered it as a “new challenge and discipline” after stepping out of her comfort zone.

“This was my way of taking care of myself. And now, it has enriched my life so much because it has put me in a better place, so I feel recharged [and] energized to be of service to others,” she added.

She also took the time to thank everyone who has supported her throughout her marathon journey, citing that the secret to a successful run is to be able to run with friends or having a support group, and training for long hours every day.

“Thank you to my family & friends who tracked me & cheered for me. Especially for patiently waiting long hours as I trained everyday. And of course my coach! He’s the best! Gabb @gabbrosario thank you for pushing me and preparing me for this day! Sobrang patient niya sakin at sa progress ko.”

In a separate post, Pia also thanked her fiancé, Jeremy Jauncey, for his support since day 1 and the latter also showed his appreciation to his beau.

“SHE DID IT! [COVID-19], crazy work [and] travel schedule couldn’t stop her. I’m so proud,” he said.
