After five years off the camera, John Lloyd Cruz is staging a comeback under Maja Salvador’s talent management agency.
JOHN Lloyd Cruz is set for a comeback after stepping away for almost five years from the limelight, Maja Salvador’s talent management agency, Crown Artist Management (CAM) said.
“We are happy to share with you the CAMback of the one and only John Lloyd Cruz, now under Crown Artist Management,” the agency shared in an Instagram post on Saturday, May 15.
The talent agency uploaded a video of Cruz disembarking from a private plane with the caption, “Get ready!” and the hashtag #TheCAMbackIsReal.
Cruz’ last project was in 2017, with Sarah Geronimo in the romantic-comedy “Finally Found Someone” and since then took a hiatus to rest and meditate.
In November 2020, John Lloyd bared the details regarding his hiatus from the entertainment industry to Boy Abunda.
“Nakakaubos iyong dine-demand ng ganitong trabaho. And bilang creator, gusto mong makapagbigay lagi ng something worth their time. And kung ubos ka, medyo mahihirapan kang mag-deliver,” he related.
During his time away from showbiz, Cruz said that being a father to his son Elias, together with Ellen Adarna, has given him “new life”.
Before the official statement of his comeback, John Lloyd has been seen filming for the movie being directed by Lav Diaz “Servando Magdamag,” and had a cameo appearance in the historical drama film “Culion,” written by Ricky Lee.
Cruz also reunited with his former on-screen partner Bea Alonzo in a short film last year.
Salvador launched her own talent agency last March stating that the pandemic made her think about her future, which led her to building a company that is still in line with the industry she is in.
On her Instagram account, Maja announced that she set up Crown Artist Management Inc. in the hopes of making other peoples’ dreams come true. (NP)
