At the recent opening of the group show "Screenscapes" at the White Room of the International House of the SEMEO INNOTECH along Commonwealth Avenue in Diliman, Quezon City where she was one of featured artists, I bravely asked award-winning actress Elizabeth Oropesa if she would later paint politically outright subject on canvas.

"No," Elizabeth replied toughly.

"Ayoko na ng pulitika. Masakit sa ulo. Magulo (I don't like politics anymore. It causes headaches. It's troublesome, disorderly)," Oropesa said frankly.

Although Beth isn't a government official or an elected public servant, she is known to be a staunch supporter of politicians.

There was a time she was a celebrated Marcos loyalist during the regime of Ferdinand E. Marcos, Sr.

She showed her ardent support for the Marcoses especially after they were booted out of power during the People Power EDSA Revolution.

During the reign of the ex-president Rodrigo Duterte, El Oro was a Dutertard.

And in the much ballyhooed Leni Robredo-Bongbong Marcos presidential battle, the actress was a Marcos diehard to the extent of being a vocal advocate for the BBM agenda.

Until her being a Marcos fanatic was put to test when she asked on video President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. why the Chief Executive wasn't minding Marcos loyalists.

The President then replied to her through a letter saying unity among Filipinos was his concern.

It wasn't clear, though, why Beth wants out of politics.
