Mutya ng Pilipinas once again proved their queens are the “jewels in the Philippines” by bringing back the crowns of several international pageants in the country.
In the recently concluded 26th edition of Miss Tourism International 2023, the Philippines’ bet, Jeanette Reyes, bagged Miss Tourism Metropolitan International 2023/24, a back-to-back win from Maria Angelica Pantaliano, who got the same crown in 2022/23.
Jeanette also bagged Miss Southeast Asia Tourism Ambassadress 2023/24.
Thailand’s Tia Li Taveepanichpan was crowned Miss Tourism International 2023/24; Emily Cossey of the United Kingdom is Miss Tourism Queen of the Year International 2023/23; Miss Tourism Cosmopolitan International 2023/24 is Malaysia’s bet Jen Cheang Shi Hui; and Australia’s Karlee Davis is Miss Tourism Global 2023/24.
In May this year, the Philippines got its first crown, Miss Chinese World, and the Philippines’ bet, Annie Uson, got the crown. She is an architect, a model, and a social media influencer. She was appointed to represent Manila following the awarding of the Miss Chinese World Philippine Franchise to Mutya ng Pilipinas.
Joan Angelina of Indonesia got the first runner-up spot, while the second runner-up is Yoong Jia Yi from Malaysia.
Another first on the roster of international crowns for the Philippines is Miss Environment International, where the Philippines’ Bet Shannon Robinson was crowned in June 2023. She also won Miss Active and Miss High Fashion Model—2nd place.
Now the Philippines are all eyes on the upcoming Miss Intercontinental pageant, which will happen on December 15 in Egypt. Iona Gibbs, Miss Intercontinental Philippines 2022, will represent the Philippines.
