The remaining entries to make up the annual festival include Regal Films’ “My Future You” which stars Seth Fedelin, Francine Diaz et al directed by Crisanto Aquino, Cineko Productions’ “Espantaho” which top bills Judy Ann Santos, Lorna Tolentino et al directed by Chito Rono, Strawdogs Studio’s “Topakk” which features Arjo Atayde, Julia Montes et al directed by Richard Somes, Mintorque and Project 8 Projects’ “Uninvited” which showcases Vilma Santos, Tirso Cruz III et al directed by Dan Villegas and Viva Communications’ “Hold Me Close” which presents Carlo Aquino, Julia Barretto et al directed by Jason Paul Laxamana.

According to Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairman Don Artes, there were seventy finished entries submitted to the Selection Committee.

“It’s sad that we only chose five,” Artes said. “But we will try to find out if we can still hold a summer film festival to choose from the remaining films.”

The first five films for this year’s MMFF, unveiled last July, include ABS-CBN Films and IdeaFirst Company’s “And the Breadwinner Is…” which stars Vice Ganda directed by Jun Robles Lana, GMA Films’ “Green Bones” which top bills Dennis Trillo and Kylie Padilla directed by Zig Dulay, Reality MM Studios’ “Strange Frequencies: Taiwan Killer Hospital” which features Enrique Gil and Jane de Leon directed by Kerwin Go, Creazion’s “Himala, Isang Musikal” which showcases Aicel Santos, Bituin Escalante et al directed by Pepe Diokno and M-Zet and APT Entertainment’s “The Kingdom” which presents Piolo Pascual and Vic Sotto directed by Michael Tuviera.
