Metropolitan Manila Development Authority Chairman Romando Artes (center), together with Manila International Film Festival Organizer Winston Emano, announced in a press conference in Pasig City Tuesday, January 9, that the 49th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) had generated a gross of P1.069 billion as of January 7, surpassing the P1.061 billion revenue recorded in 2018.
Critics have hailed the 2023 MMFF as being one of the “best” in history, with top-drawing and quality films helping the Philippine film industry regain its momentum after the Covid-19 pandemic.
