“For 8 years, God allowed me to be single. Since I have fully surrendered my life to Jesus, I have never entered into a romantic relationship. I asked Him to protect my heart and to keep it until the right man comes,” Raj wrote on her Instagram account.
Reminiscing about her journey towards surrendering herself to God, she said that He brought her on a beautiful journey.
“In the process, I have devoted my single years to serving the Lord, serving communities, and serving my family. God is indeed the giver of good gifts; He knows His timelines for my life, and the right time has finally come,” she added.
Raj was the 4th runner-up in Miss Universe 2010, where pageant enthusiasts believe that she started the yearly inclusion of Filipina delegates to the annual Miss Universe competition – a feat that was finally completed by Pia Wurtzbach when she was crowned Miss Universe in 2015.
