Film Industry celebrated anew in another International Recognition during the 2023 edition of Asean International Film Festival and Awards (AIFFA).

Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) extends congratulations to Max Eigenmann for bagging Best Actress Award in 2022 TM Malones' "Kargo". Carlo Obispo also won Best Director for his film "The Basketball Player".


"Kargo" is the official entry in the 2022 Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival. The story encircles the story of a woman seeking revenge for the murder of her entire family. Kargo won the Audience Choice Award. It also bagged Best Film in the 2023 Porto International Film Festival- Fantasporto in Portugal. More than that, Kargo is the recipient of 2020 FDCP's CreatePHFilms Post- Production Fund.


Carlo Obispo's "The Baseball Player", top billed by Tommy Alejandrino and JM San Jose, is also the official entry in the 2022 Cinemalaya Philippines Independent Film Festival in Full Length Category.


The Story encircles a 17-year-old Moro child soldier who dreams to be a baseball player. The Baseball Player wins big in 2022 Cinemalaya for winning Best Film, Best Editing by Zig Dulay, Best Screenplay by Calro Obispo and Best Actor for Tommy Alejandro.


The 2023 AIFFA have includes eight other more Filipino Films to compete in different categories are: Rainerio Yamson II's "Angkas"; Louie Ignacio's "Broken Blooms"; Christian Paolo Lat's "Ginhawa"; Ramon Perez Jr.'s "Kaluskos" and "Sitio Diablo"; Vince Tanada's "Katips"; Ralston Jover's "Latay", and Joel Lamangan's "Walker".


The Fifth Edition AIFFA was held in Sarawak Indonesia.


The award giving body tends to promote the collaborations and networking of the ASEAN Film Industry to the world.


The ASEAN International Film Festival and Awards wrote in their article:

"The Objectives of AIFFA, the ASEAN International Film Festival & Awards, are to further ASEAN filmmaking by inspiring and championing the work of screenwriters, film makers and all artists who use the language of fils to tell the story.


"Every film could help promote culture, tradition and heritage towards a convergence of ASEAN and to promote ASEAN films to the international market. Lastly, to promote collaborations and networking within the ASEAN film industry, and from ASEAN to the world."
