It’s not every day that one bumps into fellow beauty queens and TV producers back home.
And in the U.S. at that.
But beauty queen-actress Maria Isabel Lopez was lucky enough to have met one of the members of her court during the Bininibing Pilipinas coronation night in 1982.
Liza Manibog Lew was the Binibining Pilipinas-International on the same year as Maria Isabel was proclaimed Binibining Pilipinas-Universe.
Liza, now an Emmy award-winning television producer (of such shows as “Judge Judy,” “Cristina’s Court,” “Last Shot with Judge Gunn,” among others) is US-based as Maribel, also a TV and film producer in the Philippines.
The two beauty queens recently saw each other in Hollywood.
In her Facebook wall, Lopez noted her memorable encounter with Lisa.
“Catching up with Bb. Pilipinas International Lisa Lew at Saltie Girl West Hollywood. Precious moments with this beauty queen and Emmy Awardee. Topics include the 60th anniversary of Binibining Pilipinas, the MMFF etc. Thanks for taking time to bond with me,” said Maria Isabel.
Another unforgettable meeting of Maribel in the US was with digital creator and a friend, Marina Arsua Gascon, who was with hubby Leonard Gascon at a Glendale buffet table.
“What a great time catching up with an old friend! Our lunch and coffee time flew by as we shared stories and reminisced about the good old days. It was fantastic to reconnect with you after all these years and introduce you to my husband. I'm so glad we had this opportunity to catch up and create new memories together. Reminiscing with a lifelong friend was a delightful way to spend the day,” enthused Maria Isabel.
