Maine Mendoza is tired of reaching out to fans who claim that she is married to AlDub partner Alden Richards.
Maine Mendoza said she is weary calling out fans of her former on-screen partner Alden Richards-- aka AlDub-- as “delusions” about their supposed family, even five years after going their separate ways.
Mendoza sat in an interview with comedian Ogie Diaz, as posted in his YouTube channel on November 3, and admitted that fans are going overboard with speculations of her relationship with Richards.
This followed after a 36-second video of “AlDub Nation” went viral where the fans can be seen holding candles as they celebrate the loveteam’s “tamang panahon” moment.
“At one point, you need to set the record straight. Alam ko na by telling the truth, masasaktan sila, pero by leading them on, mas masasaktan din sila. Gusto ko nalang mag-stick doon sa katotohanan,” says Maine during her interview.
Fans have also started spreading rumors that the two are secretly married and have children of their own.
“May mga taong hindi gusto yung [nagpapaka-totoo], parang mas gusto nila na nafi-feed yung imagination, and for a lack of a better term, yung delusion nila,” she says.
The “Eat Bulaga” host stressed that she is thankful for the support but noted that there are also fans who have accepted that AlDub is nothing but an onscreen partnership between her and Richards while some fans are just stuck in the made- up scenarios from the widely popular segment of the show.
“Very grateful naman po ako sa suporta at pagmamahal na binigay nila sa akin from the very beginning, hindi naman po mawawala yun. Pero ayaw ko lang ng parang nanloloko ka ng tao para sa fame, para sa money.”
The actress even claimed that she has messaged fans directly on Twitter to explain that none of the rumors are true, but eventually grew tired of the fake information being circulated.
“Yung iba, hanggang ngayon kapit na kapit sila na mag-asawa kami ni Alden, may anak na kami. Marami na po akong mga taong [minessage] sa Twitter [para sabihin na] wala pong katotohanan. Pero ang reply parin nila sa akin, ‘hindi si Maine yan, admin yan ng account ni Maine.’
Meanwhile, Maine was recently seen touring Europe with her fiance Arjo Atayde who is celebrating his birthday overseas.
