Liza Soberano to star in a Hollywood film together with Cole Sprouse and Kathryn Newton, according to internet sleuths as news of her casting might have accidentally leaked
Liza Soberano could be starring in her first Hollywood movie, Lisa Frankenstein, alongside Cole Sprouse and Kathryn Newton, after eagle-eyed fans caught on Instagram posts.
The movie from Focus Features will be the directorial debut of Zelda Williams, daughter of the late actor Robin Williams, and was written by Oscar winner Diablo Cody, who's known for the movie Juno.
An excerpt from Deadline said Lisa Frankenstein is a zombie rom-com set in 1989, and tells the story of “an unpopular high schooler who accidentally re-animates a handsome Victorian corpse during a lightning storm. She starts to rebuild him into the man of her dreams using the broken tanning bed in her garage.”
So how did netizens speculate Liza’s casting in the movie?
A post by one of the actors, Kathyrn Newton, pictures of clapperboard and director’s chair for the movie set on the first day of shooting for the movie was shared by Jessie Stafford, owner of Los Angeles-based event production company JSLA Events.
In Stafford's repost, she tagged Zelda Williams, Liza Soberano, and Transparent Arts, an artist management agency that represents both James Reid and Soberano.
"Sending you and your team all the amazing energy to kill this film!!!” Stafford wrote in the story she posted.
This led to the discovery that Soberana could somehow be a part of the movie without confirmation of her role.
Another clue that netizens have uncovered is the fact that Williams and Newton themselves are now following her on Instagram.
Soberano also liked Williams’ only Instagram post so far where she is promoting “Lisa Frankenstein.”
Soberano started her Hollywood journey and made headlines in May after it was revealed that she is now being managed by Reid, who is part of the US-based Transparent Arts group championing Asian-American talents.
