Liza Soberano signs with Careless Music based in LA.
Actress Liza Soberano has officially signed with Careless Music, the record label founded by actor-musician James Reid, in a contract signing with Reid and the label’s CEO Jeffrey Oh, on June 20.
Fellow actress Issa Pressman also signed a contract with Careless Music alongside Soberano.
Soberano said during a press conference that she is looking forward to working with the record label known for taking care of “young talent.”
“The fact that they work with young creatives -- I’m currently 24 -- so it’s very exciting and encouraging to see a lot of people pursuing their dreams and passion at a very young age in a way that they wanna do it,” Soberano said.
After 11 years of being managed by Ogie Diaz, Soberano is now managed by Reid’s team after she felt that her confidence was boosted during a meeting with Reid’s team and has pushed her to explore new things that she has yet to discover throughout her career.
“I was looking for personal growth in my career. I’ve been working in the industry for 12 years now and I’ve been working with pretty much the same set of people that I’ve been working since then, not to say that I’m not grateful, not to say that I haven’t achieved so much by working with them but as I got older, I started discovering who I really was and I wanted more control over how to express that,” Soberano told reporters.
“I also wanted to work with people my age to be honest … and when I met James and his team it really made me even more excited to work with because their team is so young, so creative and they are so fearless to take risks and try to chase after things that we would think is impossible,” she added.
While the actress was in the US, she attended various events such as the Gold House’s first annual Gold Gala and Asia Society Southern California 2022 Annual Gala.
