Filipino MIDZYs will get a chance to see their favorite girl group ITZY in Manila twice next year as concert promoter Live Nation Philippines announced an additional concert date last November 13, for the Philippine leg of their 1st world tour "Checkmate!"
After tickets sold out quickly for their initial January 14 concert at the SM Mall of Asia Arena 7 p.m. Live Nation added a second show for January 15, to give a chance to other fans who failed to secure a ticket in the selling period.
"This is for you, MIDZY! We’ve added a second show on January 15, 2023, for ITZY THE 1ST WORLD TOUR in Manila," Live Nation wrote on its Facebook page.
"Tickets on sale TOMORROW, November 14 (12pm), via SM Tickets. Let’s show the world how we love ITZY!"
Tickets for the additional date are currently on sale today with prices ranging from P13,500 to P3,500 as posted on SM Tickets’ website.
This will be ITZY’s second time to perform in the Philippines after visiting the country in December 2019 for their ITZY? ITZY! premiere showcase tour.
The five-piece group, consisting of Yeji, Chaeryoung, Ryujin, Lia, and Yuna, opened their first world tour in the United States beginning on October 26 in Los Angeles, California and ended on November 13 in New York City.
Shortly before kick-starting their North American “Checkmate!” tour in late October, the group made a surprise drop for their first-ever English-language single ‘Boys Like You’ which will be part of ITZY’s next comeback as a group.
According to PhilStar, ITZY will open their 2023 concert leg in Manila in January, and will proceed to stage their concerts in other parts of Southeast Asia such as Singapore on the 28th, Jakarta on February 4, and Bangkok on April 8.
