It was a fitting posthumous tribute to a world music legend in the most awesome advantages of the digital machines.

No matter Spanish musician Aute is gone he is able to communite his experiences and ideas about the transnationalism of his art through an immortalized video talk.

Not only that.

Aute, Luis Eduardo Aute in real life, has reintroduced himself to his Filipino fans, particularly, Manila-based listeners and followers through the live effects of a video concert shot two years ago billed "Born in Manila A Tribute to Aute."

Yes, Allan Suaverdez, Aute was indeed, born in Manila on September 13, 1943.

And the audiences that gathered at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium in RCBC Plaza in Makati City during the night of the video concert dedicated to him were nostalgic, proud, sort of apologetic he is gone too soon and teary-eyed.

In the reel interview, Aute said his life in the Philippines was a very colorful one as he grew up with his grandmother and parents near Manila Bay.

Intramuros district of Manila was the playground of Aute in his growing up years and the music video has captured the colonial backdrops of the MTV.

Aute went to Spain to pursue his career in music which he succeeded with the popularity of his songs especially "Rosas en del Mar" which was interpreted in the doc film by Bituin Escalante.

Other singers who breathed life to Aute's compositions were Sheila Ferrer, Toma Cayabyab, Mark Carpio, among others.

Too sad, Aute died of COVID-19 on April 4, 2020 in Madrid, Spain.

According to Dr. Javier Galvan, Director of the Instituto de Cervantes Manila, Aute still resonates in the Philippine cultural matrix of musicality because of the Filipinos shared experiences with the Spanish people not only in socio-political history and realities but in arts and culture as well.

The Philippines was colonized by Spain for three long centuries that Filipinos were inflienced by the romantic mood of Spanish music.
