Spotify launches Karaoke mode for in-app use and other new features.
Most every Filipino home has a Karaoke set. For those who desire to use it on special occasions, there are Karaoke sets for rent for 24 hours. Renting is better than owning because the Karaoke equipment is quite bulky but the more classy ones are chic and can be attached to a wide screen television.
Now Spotify-- which is also widely subscribed by Filipino families-- just introduced its latest feature known as the Karaoke Mode which allows users to sing their favorite tunes with the lyrics displayed on the screen and even offers a scorecard and rates the 'singer.'
The new feature is available to all Spotify users, though not yet worldwide, and would just require an update to the latest version of the app.
After updating, users can choose a track that they want to sing along to, then scroll down and look for the “sing” button on the top right corner of the lyrics screen.
Score percentage is based on the accuracy (as against Karaoke's strength of voice) of the user in hitting the notes of the song.
If users are not able to view this new feature on the app, it will eventually be available in the coming days.
Based on videos that have surfaced the internet, the Karaoke page looks a lot like the lyrics page but with a sound bar.
The new karaoke option is part of a number of new features announced by Spotify in the recent weeks, with a new “community” tab for mobile users and plans to introduce audiobooks to the platform in the coming months.
Another new feature on the Spotify appis the “supergrouper” which allows users to create their own supergroup of up to five artists, which Spotify will use to generate a playlist incorporating all your favorite artists.
Supergrouper will be able to create a personalized playlist that includes music from all of the supergroup artists plus a custom card to share with friends and followers on social media.
To access the feature, the user must visit https://spotify.com/supergrouper and log in to their account so they can start selecting the artists to be included in the group.
