South Korean singer Rain and actor Jo Jung Suk firmly deny rumors of affair between them and pro golfer Park Gyeol.
South Korean idol Rain and actor Jo Jung Suk have denied all rumors that they are having an affair with professional female golfer Park Gyeol after a blind item was posted on Korean online communities.
The news came from a post on website Women Sense back in February that a pop star fell in love with a professional golfer despite being married, after their meeting at a charity golf tournament.
Both men are happily married-- Rain is married to actress Kim Tae-hee and Jung Suk to singer Gummy-- and strongly reacted to the netizens and their own agencies after the rumors started spreading.
On October 6, Jam Entertainment denied on behalf of Jo Jung Suk. "It's all false. It's absurd that the label and actor are being connected to a person they've never met, and speculation is being turned into facts."
The label also added that "Actor Jo Jung Suk has no personal acquaintance to any female golfer nor any face-to-face relationship whatsoever."
Rain Company then retaliated with a statement to deny the rumor.
“What’s being said online is not true at all. We initially planned on remaining silent, because it was just not even worth mentioning the rumors ourselves,” the agency was quoted by SBS News.
Both Jam Entertainment and Rain Company vowed to take legal actions against the perpetrators to protect the artists from defamation and requested the public to avoid distributing and sharing false information.
The rumors also reached golfer Park Gyeol who also dismissed everything via her personal Instagram account.
"How absurd. I saw them at a sponsorship event years ago, and that's it. I don't even know their number. Bad people. I don't look like her, but I was grateful for the comparison. I can't believe this is happening,” Park wrote.
