Coco Martin was one of the most affected persons when the sad news broke out his fellow actor John Regala recently kicked the bucket due to organ failures arising from kidney and liver complications.
In no time at all, Coco sent a wreath to St. Peter Chapel on Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City where John's body lies.
"Thank you, Mr. Coco Martin at di mo nakakalimutan ang yong tatay John Regala (for not forgetting your 'father' John Regala)," stated Gina Alonzo, Regala's wife on her Facebook wall.
Gina had considered John as Coco's surrogate dad because they had played father and son in a TV series.
More than this, the two actors had shared many memorable moments in the past.
In the award-winning film "Kinatay (The Butchered)," the film that won internationally acclaimed artist Brillante Ma. Mendoza the Palme d'Or Best Director at the 2009 Cannes International Film Festival, Martin and Regala portrayed compellingly rookie and rogue policemen, respectively.
Coco and John were also together in ABS-CBN's "Juan de la Cruz" and "FPJ's Ang Probinsiyano," the latter done by Regala when he was down and out in 2020.
The work was requested by John from Coco.
