Right after the screening of the film "The Essential of the Lake," directed by internationally-acclaimed filmmaker Lav Diaz, the organizers of the 76th Locarno International Film Festival in Switzerland decided to award the Best Actor trophy to Filipino thespian John Lloyd Cruz.
John Lloyd personally attended the awarding.
When his name was announced, Cruz came up the stage and the plum was handed over to him by the Locarno organizers.
Lloydie stars with Shaina Magdayao, Hazel Orencio, among others, in the Lav masterpiece.
