Through Janet Susan Rodriguez-Nepales of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), the Philippines has learned that a new film which stars John Lloyd Cruz is currently showing at the 79th Venice International Film Festival in Italy.
Janet Susan has been enjoying her watching new releases from renowned world cinema, one of them Lav Diaz’s cutting edge masterpiece “Kapag Wala na ang mga Alon (When the Waves are Gone)” which follows the futile Duterte’s war on drugs in the Philippines.
Diaz’s new opus is showing at the Out of Competition/Fiction category of the prestigious and the oldest film festival in the world.
John Lloyd shot the film in Sorsogon which the actor literally travelled far and wide from Manila just to be able to fulfill his artistic promise to Lav.
