The Asian Academy Creative Awards recognized Jodi Sta. Maria as the Best Actress in 2022 in her spectacular performance in the drama “The Broken Marriage Vow”.

Jodi Sta. Maria, who portrayed the role of a betrayed and vengeful wife Doctor Jill in the highly-acclaimed Filipino adaptation of the British series “Doctor Foster,” locally titled “The Broken Marriage Vow,” claimed the Best Actress award at the Asian Academy Creative Awards in Singapore, on December 8.
The additional feat of the 40-year-old actress came months after its initial airing with avid watchers and netizens quoting a line from Sta. Maria “Papunta pa lang tayo sa exciting part.”
During her speech, the actress was visibly overwhelmed with joy but had enough composure to thank Dreamscape, her agency, the show’s directors, her co-stars and the entire production team behind “The Broken Marriage Vow.”
"I would always say that it takes a village to be able to produce a wonderful series,” she said while trying to hold back tears, reported ABS-CBN News.
"I am at a loss for words. But again, thank you. This is the highlight of my year. Thank you, thank you. God, I give you back all the glory and praise.”
Sta. Maria is one of the 16 national winners named in September which gave her the opportunity to represent the country in the prestigious event.
Aside from the grand award for the actress, “The Broken Marriage Vow” in all its glory proved to be a hit, not just locally but even transcending cultures after bagging awards across six categories, including Best Adaptation of an Existing Format, Best Actress in a Leading Role for Jodi Sta. Maria, and Best Actor in a Supporting Role for Zaijian Jaranilla.
Dreamscape Entertainment showed their support for their talent in an Instagram post where Jodi can be seen holding her trophy while being greeted by the producers.
“Congratulations [Jodi Sta. Maria] for being hailed as Best Actress in a Leading role at the [Asian Academy Creative Awards 2022],” read the post.
