Jennylyn Mercado gave birth to a baby girl last April 25
Celebrity couple Jennylyn Mercado and Dennis Trillo announced the birth of their first child together at the end of her latest vlog titled "Nursery Tour" uploaded on Sunday night, May 1.
"Maraming salamat po sa lahat ng tumulong sa amin para mabuo ang nursery room ni Baby D. Watch na kayo mga bessies till the end. Surprise!," Mercado wrote in the caption of her vlog.
The couple were apparently not expecting that their child will be born early as they were only visiting the hospital for a routine check up as they explained in their vlog.
After showing their baby's room, a clip dated "4/25/22" shows Mercado and Trillo inside a hospital room.
"Check up lang dapat kami ngayon eh, bigla na lang kaming manganganak na raw. Hindi kami ready," Mercado said.
In the next clips, Dennis admits that he’s feeling his nerves right before he enters the operating room and the vlog suddenly ends with a picture of the couple inside the operating room, side by side as Mercado was giving birth.
Trillo and Mercado then shared some exclusive details of the birth of their baby girl in a statement with GMA-7's flagship newscast 24 Oras on May 2.
“We would like to announce that Jennylyn and I gave birth to a healthy baby girl last April 25, 2022, at about 5PM. Baby 'D' weighs 5.7 lbs and was delivered through caesarean procedure.
“Everything went smoothly inside the operating room and both Jennylyn and baby 'D' are doing very well now.”
Jennylyn and Dennis first revealed that they were dating in 2010 but eventually broke up the next year. However, they decided to get back together in 2014 and only decided to get married last November, weeks after announcing her pregnancy.
The couple added, “Despite having sleepless nights these past days, Jen and I are very much enjoying our time as parents and we are very thankful that we are blessed with a healthy baby girl.
