2016 Palme d’Or Best Actress of the Cannes International Film Festival Jaclyn Jose delightfully announced to have felt ecstatic about reuniting with her fellow “Serbis” cast in the new Brillante Ma. Mendoza film.

Nakakatuwa. Bale reunion ito ng mga kasamahan ko sa ‘Serbis’ kung saan kami unang naglakad sa red carpet ng Cannes (Amusing. This is like a reunion of sorts with my fellow stars in ‘Serbis’ where we first take a walk in the red carpet of Cannes),"

volunteered Jaclyn at the premiere night at the SM North EDSA The Block Cinema 2 of the latest Mendoza outing she referred to as “Atag,” one of the eight official entries to the first Summer Metro Manila Film Festival scheduled to kick off on April 8 in cinemas nationwide.

In 2008, Jose together with Brillante, Coco Martin, Mercedes Cabral, among others, walked the red carpet of the prestigious French Riviera for the gala premiere in the main competition of “Serbis,” a foray into the rise and fall of a family who owns an old movie house in a Pampanga provincial city in the Philippines.

After sixteen years, apart from Jaclyn, Coco and Mercedes, the other main cast members of the Cannes film are reunited like Gina Pareño and Julio Diaz.

Jose could feel anything but nostalgia.

“Imagine, magkakasama pa rin kami rito sa ‘Atag.’ Kahit marami nang nangyari, gano’n pa rin ang samahan namin (We are still together. Many things have happened but our camaraderie, or relationships are still the same),” she said with a smile.

The other cast members of “Atag” include Lito Lapid, Gladys Reyes, Shaina Magdayao, Joseph Marco, Vince Rillon, Ronwaldo Martin, among others.
