J-Hope of BTS headlined his first show during Lollapalooza 2022 and performed hits from his album and a rendition of “Dynamite” in front of 10,000 people.

J-Hope of BTS headlined his first gig at Lollapalooza in front of a crowd of almost 10,000 and made history as the first South Korean act to do so at an American music festival on Sunday, July 31.

Performing on the last night of the festival, J-Hope graced the Bud Light Seltzer Stage from 8:50 pm to 10:00 pm, singing a total of 21 songs which included hits from his newly- debuted solo album ‘Jack in The Box’ while also paying tribute to his band.

J-Hope’s setlist included “Arson,” “Daydream,” “Future,” “Hope World,” and the tropical remix of BTS’ hit song “Dynamite,” which he made his own by completely showing a new choreography, much to the ARMY’s delight.

For his last set, the k-pop idol brought out Latina pop star Becky G to join him in performing “Chicken Noodle Soup.”

Fellow bandmate Jimin notably kept his promise to fly to America to support the soloist as he was seen amongst the crowd, cheering for J-hope as his biggest supporter, standing on a special spot above the stage while dancing and jumping along.

“I really watched as a fan today,” Jimin said in a VLive livestream after J-Hope’s performance.
“Jimin’s help played a big role. While preparing for Lollapalooza, I was in a dark world, but [Jimin] became my light,” said J-Hope in turn.

After the concert, J-Hope skyrocketed online and trended worldwide and was quick to acknowledge his fans who watched his performance.

“Today is a meaningful moment for me. This is just part of the process of an album that started with greed and ambition reaching a grand finale. Through this album, all my scheduled activities benefited me, and I gained certainty once again while partaking in Lollapalooza and seeing everyone. Thank you to everyone who came. It’s an honor. This is a bit embarrassing, but I would like to say that I am proud of myself for overcoming this moment,” the headliner said in Korean, as translated by Soompi.
