Idol PH follows its sister program, American Idol, in working with Theta Network and dropping NFTs to support contestants.

ABS-CBN’s reality singing show ‘Idol Philippines’ makes history as the first Filipino program to utilize non-fungible tokens (NFTs) or digital trading cards in collaboration with Theta Network, the leading media-and-entertainment-focused blockchain.

The news of the digitized interaction came after Theta’s previous partnership with its sister show, American Idol, earlier this year.

Fans can now show their support by collecting NFTs which are rare digital items that can be bought and sold using blockchain technology, which are available on ThetaDrop, Theta Network’s green and low-cost NFT marketplace.

NFTs were first dropped on August 12, which included a commemorative digital collectible of the Idol Philippines logo at P50 each and Golden Ticket NFT tickets priced at P999 each, which holders can use for the live shows throughout August till September.

A second drop was made on August 19, which introduced the “Finalist Pack” and the Platinum Ticket NFTs.

Idol PH supporters can also choose to get the “Finalist Pack” at P899, which features the contestants, containing a rare graphics card of a random contender from the remaining Idol hopefuls.

From the pack,2 bronze cards, or 1 silver card, or 1 gold card can be included, and the card will increase in value as the featured contestant advances to the next round.

A limited Platinum Ticket NFTs priced at P1,999 can also be bought and used as passes to the Idol Philippines finals on September 17 and 18.

Collectors of the Platinum Ticket NFTs will also have the chance to meet the grand winner of the second season of Idol PH.

Meanwhile, the remaining Top 12 hopefuls advancing to the Live Gala Shows are Nisha Bedaña, Ann Raniel, Misha de Leon, Trisha Gomez, Delly Cuales, Anthony Meneses, Kice, PJ Fabia, Khimo Gumatay, Drei Sugay, Bryan Chong, and Platinum ticket holder Ryssi Avila.
