Singer Ice Seguerra, now in his new career as film director, hopes to lure in "Superstar" Nora Aunor in a movie project.
Ice Seguerra made a name as a child star after bagging runner-up honors in Eat Bulaga’s “Little Miss Philippines”.
SITTING on one’s laurel isn’t in his way of life so he dabbles in other forays that show business could offer and how.
Film directing is an art pop star Ice Seguerra wants to pursue in the nearest future.
“I want to make films not necessarily the star system in mind but more on the story,” Ice said in an exclusive interview in the online show “Boy V’s Corner” in OpinYon Live Wednesday noon.
Aside from culling on indie actresses in the tradition of Angeli Bayani, Mercedes Cabral, Sue Prado, Mai Fanglayan etc., Seguerra wants to tap Nora Aunor in her film if ever. “Her eyes say it all,” Ice exclaimed as an appreciation of the actress.
Directing came to Seguerra in the most unexpected way when he was given a “captain-of-the-ship” work in Music for Television or MTV and live entertainment by various productions including some live—before the pandemic—and now virtual events of the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP).
Initially, Ice Seguerra has made a name as a child star after placing as runner-up in a contest in the longest running noontime show on television, “Eat Bulaga”’s “Little Miss Philippines” where he sported the screen name Aiza Seguerra.
When Aiza was already in her teens she studied pop singing formally and later enrolled, persevered and graduated with a degree in music from the Conservatory of Music of UST.
Later, Seguerra recorded “Pagdating ng Panahon” which was a top-rater in the music charts that was followed by a string of hits.
Seguerra also had proven his acting mettle in a number of TV and film projects so being an actor was an easy description on his craft.
