Rookie girl group from HYBE’s ADOR NewJeans officially debuts with their title track ‘Cookie’ and their self-titled mini-album.

After dropping a series of singles along with their own music videos, NewJeans of ADOR, Min Hee-jin’s label, successfully debuted on August 1 with the release of their EP ‘New Jeans.’

The rookie girl group has been making waves in the music scene after dropping various songs and music videos starting with their title track ‘Attention,’ followed by their b-sides 'Hype Boy,' and 'Hurt.'

‘Cookie’ is the fourth and final track to be released from NewJeans’ self-titled debut release which features a choreography-focused video on a simple set with a giant cookie rolling past the members.

Composed of five members, Hani, Danielle, Minji, Haerin and Hyein, the rookie group is said to “not conform to one particular style” and is rather focusing on “organic and comforting tracks suited for easy-listening.”

Their new way of promoting has proven to pay off as all the songs from the new EP are ranking high on major South Korean music charts such as Melon Music Charts, with all four tracks ranking in the top 100, with the highest ranking song at number 4.

Before even debuting, NewJeans had k-netizens hooked as per Hankuk Ilbo, NewJeans’ debut release grabbed 444,000 preorders in four days, setting a new record for the highest number of stock pre-orders achieved by any girl group’s debut album in history.

Also ahead of their official debut, the girl group also launched a new app named Phoning, available on iOS and Android, which includes unreleased photos of the group, marketed as a personal tracker by having a calendar detailing their upcoming release dates and promotional roll-outs.

After their successful debut digitally, the EP will also be released via physical copies next week on August 8.
