A throwback of the 90s and the millennium was observed here in Laguna Province last week.
Those decades were the prominent season for King of Comedy Dolphy and ABS-CBN’s “Home Along Da Riles” which wasn’t only a hit tube show but a movie as well.
Well, last week, the legacy of Dolphy and ABS-CBN was passed on to San Pedro City when its cast had a meet and greet party at the Robinsons Galleria South cinemas last Dr. Jose Rizal’s Day in Laguna.
The project’s blurbs expressed them all: “Sama-sama nating balikan ang tawanan, iyakan, at mga alaalang nagpa-antig sa puso ng bawat Pilipino (Let’s recall the laughter, sorrow and memories that touched the hearts of every Filipino).”
“Muling nagbabalik ang Pamilya Cosme sa espesyal na block screening ng (Pamilya Cosme—the family of the character of Dolphy—returns in a special showing of) ‘Home Along Da Riles: The Reunion’ sa San Pedro, Laguna!”
“Hindi lang ito simpleng block screening. Ang bawat ticket na mabibili ay makatutulong sa mga programa, proyekto, at mga aktibidad ng (Not only a simple showing. Each ticket bought can support the programs, projects and activities of) KASAPI Coalition.
“Kung lumaki ka sa ‘Home Along Da Riles,’ ito na ang pagkakataon para muling maranasan ang saya at nostalgia kasama ang kapwa fans at mismong mga bumuo ng ating mga alaala (If you grew up in the generation of the TV and film, this is your chance to re-experience the fun and nostalgia with fellow fans and all the people involved in the project.”
KASAPI Coalition (Kabataang Aktibo Para sa San Pedrong Inklusibo), an independent alliance of youth leaders and organizations from San Pedro, Laguna advocating for inclusive democracy through good governance and youth empowerment.
