Haechan of NCT 127, Dream will be taking a much needed rest from promotions after suffering from heart palpitations and chest tightness.
In an unfortunate turn of events, NCT 127 and NCT Dream member Haechan will be taking a break from all his scheduled activities due to poor health, announced the bands’ agency SM Entertainment on January 6.
According to a statement released by SM Entertainment, and translated by Korean media outlet Soompi, Haechan felt unusual palpitations and tightness in his chest during promotions.
“Recently, Haechan felt symptoms of abnormal conditions such as heart palpitations and chest tightness, so he went to the hospital with his manager for consultation and examination, and received the opinion of the medical staff that he needed treatment and rest,” the agency said.
Haechan has recently been promoting with NCT DREAM following the release of their new remake track “Candy,” and is preparing for NCT 127’s comeback with their upcoming repackaged album “Ay-Yo,” at the end of January.
“As Haechan’s health recovery is the most important thing, he plans to take a break and recover his health by not participating in any schedules for the time being. As a result, Haechan decided not to participate in the schedule for the next week, and we will inform you again when the schedule resumes later.”
“We sincerely apologize for causing concern to the fans, and ask for the fans’ generous understanding that this decision was made for Haechan’s health. We will do our best to support Haechan so that he can meet his fans in a healthier way,” the statement added.
DREAM MAKER USA also confirmed that Haechan would not be participating in NCT 127’s upcoming tour stops in Latin America and the U.S, including cities in the U.S, Chile, Brazil, Colombia and Mexico, for their scheduled world tour, "The Link.”
“Please be informed that Haechan will not be able to participate in the NCT 127 2nd Tour Neo City: USA & Latin America-The Link due to health issues,” the company announced.
As a result, only eight members of NCT 127 will be performing for the upcoming tour.
