More than just a beauty pageant, the Queen of Asian competition at Robinsons North Tacloban served as a powerful platform for diversity and inclusivity.
14 LGBTQIA+ candidates from Asian Development Foundation College (ADFC) battled for the coveted Queen of Asian crown on Sunday, October 13.
It was also the 40th founding Anniversary of ADFC when Miss Alrich Ann Gisma of Accountancy emerged victorious in the competition.
Gisma, a true force to be reckoned with, not only secured the top prize but also swept several minor awards, including Miss Elegance, Best in Costume, and Miss Eloquence.
Her exceptional performance solidified her as a true queen, embodying both beauty and intelligence.
Gisma's reign is supported by a formidable court of runners-up, each possessing their own unique charm and accomplishments:
Yvan Silagan Dayola of Tourism Management was the 1st Runner-Up, Nicole Almaden from Hospitality Management captivated the audience as the second runner-up, Briana Raval Estrada of Tourism Management was secured as the third runner-up while Molly Jones Anderson from Senior High won as the fourth runner-up.
Asian Development Foundation College, a staunch advocate for LGBTQIA+ rights, provides a space for these individuals to celebrate their identities and amplify their voices.
The Queen of Asian Crown pageant at Robinsons North Tacloban has been a day of unforgettable performances, dazzling costumes, and inspiring messages.
“After three incredible journeys, filled with challenges, growth, and unforgettable moments, I am beyond thrilled to finally be crowned Queen of Asia 2024! Each competition taught me something new about resilience, the power of community, and the beauty of diversity. This title isn't just a personal victory; it represents the voices and stories of all the women I met along the way. I’m grateful for the lessons learned, the friendships forged, and the unwavering support of my family and fans,” said Gizma, the newest Queen of Asian.
