Critics said “Garden Story” puts the best parts of Zelda and Animal Crossing together in this wholesome and cute game for all ages.

Summer Game Fest kicked off last June 10 and is still ongoing launching new titles and making gamers excited on a lot of “indie” games.

One of those is the action role-playing game “Garden Story.”

Announced in 2019, “Garden Story” follows Concord, the youngest grape in The Grove, on his ascent as the new Guardian tasked to unify the broken community and help restore the land.

Created by Picogram in March 2018, the game was signed in with publisher Rose City Games in 2019 before being showcased during E3 and the Wholesome Games Direct.

“Garden Story” is heavily inspired by the Legend of Zelda games with the addition of other game mechanics such as gardening, building, and fixing items in The Grove, which is your home.

Critics have said that the game puts the best parts of Zelda and Animal Crossing together in this wholesome and cute game for all ages.

Fish, build relationships with friends, gather materials, and bring the villages together to fight the goo enemies known as the Rot threatening to destroy your home.

“Picogram wants to highlight honest work and showcase the importance of coming together when times get tough,” writes Rose City.

A demo was released on the PC through Steam and the game has started turning heads and gaining attention.

“Filipino-American Action RPG ‘Garden Story’ Is One of Our Most Anticipated Games,” writes Dale Balesir of IGN Southeast Asia.
“This weekend I fell in love with a blueberry. Then I realized it was a grape, so I guess I fell in love with a grape,” said Christian Donlan of Eurogamer.

Last June 11, Garden Story released a new trailer announcing the new release window which is now Summer 2021 (June to September).

There is no announced price as of writing but PC gamers and Nintendo Switch users can add “Garden Story” to their wishlist to be notified as soon as it’s released.
