After attending the premiere showing at the 2023 Soho International Film Festival in New York of the worldwide production of "Asian Persuasion" which stars, among others, KC Concepcion and Fil-Am actors Dante Basco and Paolo Montalban, directed by Broadway personality Jhett Tolentino, world renowned filmmaker Jeffrey Jeturian later watched the US screening of the celebrated contemporary youth and police brutality film "Blue Room" at the same film fest.
"Blue Room", directed by Ma-an Asuncion-Dagñalan won the Special Jury Prize, Best Direction, Best Cinematography, Best Production Design and Best Supporting Actor for Soliman Cruz at the 2022 Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival.
During the Soho film event, Jeffrey was reunited with fellow filmmaker Will Fredo who was one of the producers of the movie.
"It was a reunion of sorts with my colleague Will Fredo," exclaimed Jeturian in his Facebook wall where he also posted some photos of the event.
Meanwhile, at the screening of "Asian Persuasion", Jeffrey huddled with KC, one of the lead actresses of the project.
Jayjay, Jeturian's pet name, hobnobbed as well with Jhett, Dante and other members of the cast.
Jeffrey also had the privilege of watching the stage musical "Here Lies Love" at a Broadway Theater but felt sorry Lea Salonga wasn’t in the cast.
“Had fun watching ‘Here Lies Love’ at the Broadway Theater. Sayang lang (It’s regrettable), it wasn’t Lea who performed. Would have wanted to take a selfie with her in her dressing room,” the award-winning director chidingly if not teasingly noted, obviously in reference to the controversial intrusive photo-op of a Filipino fan with Lea.
