It was indeed a night of a fan girl, a combine of the virtual and in-person awards rites of the 46th Metro Manila Film Festival held tonight at the New Frontier Theater in Cubao in Quezon City as “Fan Girl” by Black Sheep Productions, Globe Studios and other collaborators won Best Film.

There were a lot of Nora Aunor fan girls screaming off-cam and watching online and hostess Kyle Verzosa admitted she was a fan girl of “Fan Girl” which she had just watched hours before the awarding ceremony.

Excited Audience

Other fan girls and boys of all the stars in the 10 competing works of the 2020 MMFF were glued to the cyber screen or patiently waited outside the hall with only a few socially-distanced audience present.

Newbie Wins

Although Nora lost in the Best Actress derby all her fans were around virtually to root for her but the award went to newbie Charlie Dizon who played the fan of idol Paulo Avelino who took away the Best Actor plum.

The movie’s director Antoinette Jadaone romped away with the Best Director trophy.
