De la Rea, a society boy, was also a dependable member of the Bayanihan Dance Troupe, the premier dance company of the Philippines which originated from the Philippine Women’s University.
Tony Boy who was a favorite actor of Seiko Films also starred in the films “Tambay sa Disco,” “Beach House,” among others.
Will local show business still be hospitable and interested to welcome anew the comeback bid of controversial actor Tony Boy de la Rea?
“Mabait naman si Tony Boy. Kaibigan ko siya. Maraming nagtitiwala sa kanya tulad ng kaibigan ko at modelong si (Tony Boy is a kind person. We are friends. There are many people who trust him like my friend and model) Jane Umali,” exclaimed beauty queen actress Azenith Briones.
“Mahusay na aktor si Tony Boy. Kaklase ko rin siya sa Accounting course ko sa UE. Marami pa siyang magagawa sa showbiz (He is a good actor. He’s my classmate in my Accounting course in UE. He still can do a lot),” praised entertainment writer Obette Serrano.
After UE, de la Rea transferred to UP Diliman to pursue his studies in accounting.
“I am now ready to make a comeback. Sana, mapagbigyan nila ako (I hope they give me a chance,” quipped Tony Boy.
De la Rea is slated to top bill “Paghilom,” an initial venture of Cine Silang under the direction of Teejay Gonzales.
