One of OPM’s greatest bands, Eraserheads, will be reuniting for a concert, days before Christmas at the SMDC Festival Grounds in Paranaque City.
Iconic Filipino band Eraserheads will make their much-awaited reunion concert “The Huling El Bimbo” happening on December 22 in SMDC Festival Grounds in Paranaque City as confirmed by former frontman Ely Buendia.
Talks about a possible project of the band sparked after netizens, and even Parokya ni Edgar frontman Chito Miranda, pointed out that Ely, Buddy Zabala, Marcus Adoro, and Raimund Marasigan posted a similar photo that bears the letter E on their respective social media accounts.
The "Huling El Bimbo" reunion was also confirmed by Marasigan, Zabala and Adoro on their respective social media accounts on September 19, a week after posting the cryptic photo.
"See you! Huling El Bimbo Concert 12.22.2022," Buddy wrote on Instagram.
Marasigan also took to Instagram to post while also asking for any questions fans might have.
"Daren and I are taping an offstage hang episode on Sept 20 Tuesday night Manila time. Leave your questions in the comments section of the latest offstage hang IG post. I’ll try to answer them. cheers," he wrote.
The poster accompanying the reunion post is a nod to the cover of their iconic first album “Ultraelectromagneticpop!” released in 1993.
The OPM band decided to call it quits and disbanded in 2002 after making hits such as “Ligaya,” “Alapaap,” “With A Smile,” and “Huwag Kang Matakot” for over a decade which started in 1989.
E-heads reunited back in 2008 through a concert but was then cut short after Buendia reportedly collapsed during the event and was rushed to the hospital, but they followed it up a year later and held a concert entitled “The Final Set.”
Fans were also teased on another reunion as Buendia made a vow last year, saying that the band might have a reunion if former Vice President Leni Robredo runs for President.
