Entertainment

In a society and entertainment business which capitalizes on popularity and complacency to preserve an oppressive status quo, underscoring named stars in a news item is a common slant to familiarize the public with a report.

Dropping the names of Elijah Canlas, 43rd Gawad Urian Best Actor for the film “Kahlel, 15” and former “Bagets” star Yayo Aguila commits to the principle of prominence as a news attraction.

Elijah is nominated as Best Actor for the film “He Who Is Without Sin” while Yayo is fielded as a contender in the Best Supporting Actress for the movie “Metamorphosis” both in the forthcoming 4th Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino (PPP) awards night while others as deserving are decorated on the sideline as well.
