Drag Den Philippines” to premier on Amazon Prime Video on December 8, and will feature eight drag queens to compete for the title.
The highly anticipated teaser for “Drag Den Philippines” has finally dropped, featuring eight drag queens who will be competing and host “RuPaul’s Drag Race” alum Manila Luzon, it posted on its official Twitter account on November 17.
“DRAG, DEPTH, GORGEOUS! Magpayong ka! Dahil jujulanis morissette ng beauty, wit, and talent dito sa ating underground Baranggayan. Only one will reign as the FIRST-EVER FILIPINO DRAG SUPREME!” the Twitter post read.
“Drag Den Philippines” introduced the eight competing queens for its first season in the trailer namely O-A, Maria Cristina, Aries Night, Barbie-Q, Shewarma, Pura Luka Vega, NAIA and Lady Gagita as reported by Inquirer Entertainment.
Online content creator Sassa Gurl will also be appearing as “drag runner,” while beauty queen Nicole Cordoves is the show’s “drag dealer'' and will be joining Manila Luzon throughout the competition as part of the judges’ panel.
Additionally, Prime Video Philippines posted a 37-second video of Manila Luzon sitting on a throne in a dimly-lit space on November 17, on Twitter.
"This is the drag lord speaking. I just want to inform you that after years and years and years of searching, I finally found it," Manila Luzon teased, followed by her iconic evil laugh.
According to ABS-CBN, the show was dubbed as the “first-ever drag reality show” which was revealed to the public in July 2021, followed immediately by its auditions held in August.
However, the local version of the hugely successful “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” named “Drag Race Philippines,” was broadcasted first which crowned Precious Paula Nicole as its queen.
"Drag Den Philippines,” also dubbed as “drag pageant for Filipinos by Filipinos,” is produced by Cornerstone and Project 8 with Antoinette Jadaone and Rod Singh as creative directors and producers will be launched on December 8 on Prime Video.
