"Disney+ and Marvel Studios invite you on an unexpected holiday getaway, unwrapping the Official Trailer and Teaser Poster for Hawkeye, a new series set in post-blip New York City," said Marvel with the release of the trailer.
Disney+ has dropped the first trailer for its newest Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) series “Hawkeye.”
“Hawkeye” will debut on November 24, weeks after the MCU’s currently running show, ‘What If…?’, wraps its initial run.
Jeremy Renner will reprise his role as Clint Barton - aka Hawkeye - for the new series and Hailee Steinfeld is set to star alongside him as Kate Bishop, another well-known archer from the Marvel comics.
The series will also star Vera Farmiga as Bishop’s mother, Eleanor, Zahn McClarnon, Brian d'Arcy James, Tony Dalton, Alaqua Cox, and Fra Fee as new characters.
Piggybacking off of Black Widow’s post-credits scene, which put Yelena Belova on a collision course with Barton, Florence Pugh will reprise her role for the series.
The first official trailer for “Hawkeye” was released by Disney+ yesterday.
"Disney+ and Marvel Studios invite you on an unexpected holiday getaway, unwrapping the Official Trailer and Teaser Poster for Hawkeye, a new series set in post-blip New York City," said Marvel with the release of the trailer.
Along with Hawkeye's festive-themed trailer, Marvel also shared a brand-new poster for the series, showing Barton, Bishop and Lucky the Pizza Dog walking the snowy streets of New York City.
"This holiday season the best gifts come with a bow," reads the tagline on the one-sheet that teases holiday hijinks in the six-episode season.
The new MCU series will center around the titular character Hawkeye also known as Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner), who has to leave his family during the holiday season to, well, fight crime and atone for the sins he’s made as Ronin (as seen in “Avengers: Endgame”).
But, to his surprise, he meets a young woman who has a talent with a bow-and-arrow. This is Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld,) who has long desired to become a superhero.
Hawkeye is set to premiere on Disney+, Disney’s exclusive streaming platform. Six episodes will arrive every Wednesday and the finale will be released on December 29.
Additionally, this will be the first series of the MCU to introduce the Young Avengers.
