Fear of contracting COVID-19 has made Vangie Labalan refuse to kiss a leading man during the taping of a new movie.

Vangie was firm in her decision not to kiss and be kissed especially on the lips.

IMAGINE flamboyant character actress Vangie Labalan who’s been playing diverse screen roles as a wacky yet aggressive, obsessive stalker of a guy, yet has refused a kiss from the leading man.

Vangie was firm in her decision not to kiss and be kissed especially on the lips.

The overturn just happened on the set of a film she shot in Sorsogon with character actor Dindo Arroyo. The scene in film “Ikaw Lang ang Mamahalin” which required a lips-to-lips kiss was revised to a smack as long as it wasn’t on the lips.

The killjoy? The COVID-19 scare.

“I refused my kissing scene with Dindo Arroyo who is my love interest in the movie because of the new coronavirus.
“Nakakatakot kaya ang COVID kaya I said I cannot talaga (COVID is scary indeed),” chuckled Labalan.

Even if they followed health protocols, the comedienne was cautious about transmission of the virus.

It was settled, anyway. “Sa leeg na lang ako hinalikan ni Dindo (Dindo just kissed me in my neck),” exclaimed Vangie.
“Naintindihan naman nila, no’ng mga producers (The producers understood me, anyway). They were nice. Ang galing talaga nila (They were good). We were housed in a four-star hotel and treated like royalty on and off the set),” she beamed with pride.

According to Labalan, the producer of the film is Lucky Blanco, a relative of actress Jackie Lou Blanco and Emmanuel de la Cruz was part of the creative team.
